- to advance and disseminate knowledge of Scotland’s WW1 history;
- to promote community and public engagement in this history;
- to secure the legacy of Scotland’s WW1;
- to enhance our understanding of the War and its consequences.
Our first objective is to provide opportunities for everyone to participate in our public engagement education, arts, and cultural activities, and to learn about the war and its consequences in more meaningful ways.
Our second objective is to ensure that the historical integrity and legacy of Scotland's WW1 history is preserved for current and future generations.
Our work and legacy projects will be approached in a sensitive, respectful and ethical manner. We will also ensure that the Scotland’s War (1914-1919) commemorative initiatives are relevant to all ethnic, religious and secular parts of Scottish society.
Our Trustees have a long and recognised experience in this field and our community and public engagement programmes have taken them from the Island Communities to the Highlands, the Central Belt and the Borders. We will continue to connect the history of Scotland in WW1 with all members of Scottish society through public talks, workshops, exhibitions, art and literature.
The project also seeks to work in partnership with like-minded national and international organisations.
