 Argyll and Bute’s War

Personal letters, diaries, posters, newspaper reports and articles, official archives, school log books; they all help us to build up an understanding of what was happening and what it meant. Of course, there was censorship and in hindsight it was often what was not written that was most important. After the war ended the profusion of books on the politics, the regiments, the battles and the aftermath added to the knowledge but in some ways detracted from the immediate and personal.

If you have any letters, diaries or any documentation relating to someone related to you that served in World War I, please get in touch with us.
